HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF MOTIVATED IN THE PANDEMIC?

Covid 19 has caused a lot of distress among all of us. When I heard about the lockdown I was like “what would I do for these 20 days”, because keeping indoors after a regular routine of going out for groceries, office work, and social gatherings seemed super-strange.

For the first few days, I did not like it and I would always crib but then I thought that instead of crying about it, let me see how do I stay motivated in the face of a worldwide pandemic that has impacted every aspect of my life?

It’s not easy to stay motivated during the lockdown, but it’s not impossible.

So here are a few tried and tested tips/suggestion which could keep you motivated

#1- STAY ATTACHED

This pandemic has made it very difficult for us to meet our friends and dear ones. But if we think, we realize that before lockdown our lives were so busy that we couldn’t connect with our old friends, family members, or any of our dear ones. So then why not use this time to connect with everybody with whom we couldn’t connect for a long time.

Here’s something you can do- start calling everybody in alphabetical order so like for the first day you can take 3 alphabets (A, B, C) and call all your friends/ family with whom you wish to talk. In the same way, you can continue till the last alphabet. This helps us to connect with all our friends/family.

#2- EXERCISE/MEDITATION

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us are staying at home and sitting more than usual. Many of us find it difficult to engage in the type of exercise we usually do. It’s even more difficult for people who don’t normally engage in a lot of physical activity.

However, it is critical for people of all ages and abilities to be as active as possible at this time. Exercise is especially important right now because it can help with stress reduction, weight loss prevention, immune system enhancement, and sleep improvement.

Exercising with family, using online fitness resources (one of the best and affordable classes is ‘Pyramid Fitness’ of Pinky Rathod), taking a virtual class, setting exercise goals, and doing calorie-burning chores are all safe ways to get some exercise.

#3- COOK FOR COVID

“Part of being a person is about helping others.” Why not cook a little more than usual and serve it to people who are home quarantined?

#4- TRY ALL YOUR HOBBIES

One of the best ways to stay motivated during COVID-19 is to try new hobbies. When our jobs took over our lives, many of us abandoned our hobbies. Now is the time to rekindle those old pastimes.

After a long time, I began painting again. And now, every other day, I do a little bit. You can also begin with your interests, which could be anything – creative, cooking, singing, or anything else.

#5- LEARN SOMETHING NEW

It’s a difficult time, but it’s also a time to rise to the occasion. It’s never a bad idea to pick up a new skill. The issue is finding the time. The majority of us have more time on our hands during the lockdown, and there’s no better way to spend it than learning something new.

Indulge yourself in different small courses in which you are interested. It can be a course of graphic designing, any craft course, baking course, etc.

When you don’t get to go out or see your friends, this can be a difficult time. There is no social life. It doesn’t have to be that way, though. Several electronic platforms have special offers for this time period; take advantage of them and connect.

We must band together and do our part to slow the spread of the disease. And while things may appear difficult and bleak right now, have faith that everything will work out. We’ll get through this together. We will be tenacious and resourceful.

STAY HOME STAY SAFE!!!
