Zomato aiding the isolated Covid Patients with options for faster delivery

Legend says tough times don’t last, but tough people do and Zomato has proven it time and again through the pandemic. During the first lockdown, Zomato started delivering groceries, feeding daily wagers, ensuring relief and Covid insurance for their riders, and initiated contactless delivery.

And, just when you thought there was nothing more to add to this list, Zomato began its priority delivery service during the second lockdown. This service allows patients with Covid related emergencies to be served at priority ensuring faster delivery.

The feature can be enabled just by marking the ‘This order is related to a COVID-19 emergency’ option and the order will be considered for the quickest delivery by the fastest driver based on the route and location. To avoid abuse of the feature Zomato’s founder Deepinder Goyal requested that this be treated as an ambulance and not be misused.

No matter the issue, Zomato is always prompt and reactive in unearthing solutions and quick in implementing them. Zomato’s initiatives have eased the lives of people amidst the pandemic and its efforts have not gone unnoticed. Social media and newspapers have burst in praise of Zomato and its constant attempts at assisting people through a crisis.

Although priority delivery is essentially Zomato’s initiative, it cannot be lauded alone for the same. This would not have been possible without the constant support and readiness of Zomato’s partner restaurants in agreeing and acting upon its initiatives.

Zomato indeed is the friend in need!
